Online and In-Person Training

This online learning program is based on the Karl Jennings Acute Loss Method and is designed for funeral industry arrangers and other staff who interact with clients in both pre-need and at-need settings. In these courses, the Acute Loss Period is introduced as a tool for helping families through the most difficult moments of their lives. This model describes the emotional, relational and spiritual needs of the newly bereaved and provides a roadmap for guiding families toward the beginning of a healthy grieving process. Through an examination of the development of the ALP model, the history and future of the funeral industry, and quizzes and personal reflections, this course teaches arrangers to help families nurture the life-changing experience of loss. The results of this training include providing increased value to the communities being served, and better understanding of the effective role of today’s funeral professional.
